Who We Are:
Smooches & Smiles, Inc. is a hands-on, animal petting opportunity, focusing on providing those with special needs an interactive experience with a variety of farm animals. Our focus is on offering an up close and personal experience with animals in a safe and enjoyable environment. There can be a heartfelt connection between people & animals, and it is in making this connection that Smooches & Smiles is all about!
Our home base is located at 379 Coldenham Road, Walden, NY 12586. We have a family friendly farm with a variety of animals including: chickens; turkeys; goats; sheep; horses; doggies and more. Great care has been taken in the selection of animals that make up the Smooches & Smiles family. All of our animals have a calm temperament and a loving nature. Many have been raised as babies on the farm, some are rescues, and all are personal family pets. Smooches & Smiles, Inc. is fully insured, and our animals are vetted, and current on their vaccinations. They are well cared for and are surrounded by people of all ages who handle and love on them daily!
We use many of our animals, particularly our horses, to provide opportunities for people to understand more about social skills awareness. Communication between animals and people are not so different. Learning about personal space, respect, body language, verbal and non-verbal cues are just some of the components in understanding how to spend time around animals, as well as people.
*(Horseback riding is not offered at the farm.)
Smooches & Smiles, Inc. welcomes visits to their farm, but we also make personal visits to home and community-based settings. The animals used on visits outside of the farm have been travel trained and are comfortable in a variety of settings. We are fully insured and will provide a certificate of insurance upon request.
